World War Hulk #1 Review-9/10

June 14, 2007 at 2:40 am (Review, World War Hulk, World War Hulk #1)

image This is not Civil War.  I have been dreading the big cliffhangers and over dramatized waits that so closes followed the Civil War in its relentless pursuit to earn money.  But this is overall faster, more action packed, and really interesting.  I am wondering how they are going to stretch something like this out for five issues.

The art is well done but I really don’t like how She-Hulk is drawn.  She looks like a butt-ugly Russian wrestler.  Other than that John Romita Jr’s art is spot on.  He draws Hulk very well I hope it continues like this through out the arc.

The writing is really good, I particular like the dialog between unregistered heroes and registered heroes.  There is a temporary pardon of all unregistered heroes that decide to help evacuate and I presume fight Hulk.  So we get some very good dialog between Spider-man and Iron Man, and the dialog doesn’t get neglect what  happened in Civil War.

I give this book a 9 out of 10

Limited Edition Halo 3 Controllers and Headset Announced

June 13, 2007 at 4:08 am (Todd McFarlane, xbox 360)

image

Halo fans we have another reason to spend money, Microsoft has announced a new wireless controllers and wireless headsets with a Halo 3 skin.  Although the wireless controllers are 10 dollars more than normal wireless controllers going for $59, one with the Covenant and one featuring Spartans.  The wireless headsets are still at their $59. Oh and by the way, the art on the controllers is done by Todd McFarlane of Spawn, and if you buy it at gamestop you get a Halo Figurine by the same artist.  Sounds like a deal to me.  All three accessories will be available the 9/4/07.

World War Hulk #1 Hits tomorrow

June 12, 2007 at 8:31 pm (World War Hulk)

WORLD WAR HULK #1If you liked waiting for late shipments of Civil War, having minor characters die, and overall having your mind messed with last summer, fall, winter and spring, its happening again.  Tomorrow the World War Hulk summer (that will probably end this fall) event will start. So will the Hulk smash Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, Prof X, Black Bolt and Dr. Strange?  Probably not, but it will be fun to see other people get smashed.

This Wednesday World War Hulk 1 hits, next week Incredible Hulk 108, and on the 27th World War Hulk X-men and World War Hulk Front Lines.  You can spend your money now or get raped in trades this fall.

Two Worlds is "deeper" than Oblivion

June 12, 2007 at 8:11 pm (Two Worlds, xbox 360)

Well isn’t that nice, I believe that would be the second time this week companies with new IP’s have decided to take a crap on the companies with famed ones.  Personally I am getting a little annoyed but I guess should be able to voice their opinions as well.  “Two Worlds offers a more focused, grittier experience and a lot of correlating features are deeper in Two Worlds.” says Dirk Hassinger of Zuxxez.  “Our inventory system is smarter, our magic system is much more complex and even the way we handle horses has more depth. Beyond those game mechanics, we have a much more complex society, with many more factions working within it. On top of that, our overarching storyline is a touch darker and more involved.  That’s not to say that Oblivion is a worse game, just that Two Worlds has more ‘meat’.”

I would like to see how to two pair up, I think Two Worlds has something going for on the side of multiplayer.  Considering that it has a MMO mode inside of a single player game it looks like it could be a lot of fun on consoles.  I just wonder how it is going to balance with the single player mode.  Will it be harder to play the campaign with others (more enemy spawns), or is it just going to allow you to bring your friends into the game and completely break the balance of the enemy difficulty.  In WoW you cant just walk into the Black Temple by yourself, you need a party.  So will you need a party for higher level bosses and dungeons?  I wonder if all the kinks will be worked out before the US release.  I am waiting eagerly for Eurogamers full interview when its released.  I hope it answers some question about the multiplayer mode.

Face of the Master Chief in Halo 3 Beta

June 12, 2007 at 7:41 pm (xbox 360)

If I had known about  this when the beta was still open I would have so done this.  Two fans decided to move the third person camera around into the visor of the one of the Spartans.  The actual face looks pretty ugly, like an alien or something.  I am guess that was just a place holder for when the game ships.  It would be pretty cool to see it in the story mode and not just a dark silhouette found in multiplayer glitches.

GTA IV Trailer 2 coming 6-28-2007

June 12, 2007 at 3:25 am (Rockstar, xbox 360)

Get ready to deal with torrenting a 2 minute trailer again. Rockstar plans to crash the web again on the 28th of this month to debut its star of 07. The of the Internet crashing trailer will be touching the emotional side of games with the title of “Looking For That Special Someone.” And I highly doubt she is a hooker.

Mindfreak ad in Crackdown

June 12, 2007 at 1:16 am (xbox 360)

Well I have seen the Civic ads a lot cruising through Pacific City but this is the first time I have seen an update to the ads in the game. I wonder what other things they may throw into the game. I mean if there is a image file why not a streaming video file.

Also the whole Idea of ads paying for games. If the ads could support the DLC maybe more companies would risk doing episodic content and downloadable expansion packs. Well one can hope.
